Athletes with a documented medical condition requiring the use of a Prohibited Substance or Prohibited Method must first obtain a Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE).

 

Athletes included in the IBU Registered Testing Pool must obtain a TUE from the IBU. Other Athletes participating in any Biathlon competition must apply for a TUE at their National Anti-Doping Organisation and request recognition from the IBU.

 

To ensure this application can be processed efficiently, Athletes must include sufficient information to support the diagnosis including physician's notes, laboratory and/or test results, and any imaging results.

 

TUE applications must be submitted via ADAMS. WADA provides an Online Checklist to guide and support Athletes, physicians and Anti-Doping Organisations during the application process.
